FAQs for Homeowners after Natural Disasters
- What should I do immediately after a Natural Disaster?
Your safety is the first priority. Once it’s safe to assess the damage, contact your home insurance provider to begin the claims process. Take photos and videos of any damage for documentation. - Who should I contact first—my home insurance provider or Unlock?
Start by contacting your home insurance provider to file a claim. After that, notify Unlock of the situation by calling our support team at 800-560-3450 Ext. 2 or sending an email support@unlock.com. We will guide you through the process. - Do I need to provide Unlock with my insurance claim information?
Yes. Once you’ve filed a claim with your insurance provider, please share the claim details with Unlock so we can help you navigate the repairs to your home. - What happens once I receive the insurance check?
-If you receive a claim check, you will need to send it to Unlock in most cases for endorsement. You also may need to send it to your mortgage provider as well. This process is typically facilitated by USPS and/or FedEx.
-Once we receive the claim check, we will endorse it and return it via FedEx.
